Remote Services
Remote services provide authorized users with access to systems and resources within the hochstaffl.eu network from external locations.
Service Overview
- OpenVPN – secure access to the internal network
- Remote Desktop Services – access to Windows desktops and applications
- WebDAV – remote access to shared files
OpenVPN
OpenVPN provides secure remote access to the internal network over the Internet.
After establishing a VPN connection, authorized users can access internal systems and services that are otherwise available only from within the local network.
OpenVPN is operated independently from Active Directory.
Remote Desktop Services
Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) servers provide access to Windows applications and desktops over the Internet.
Applications can be published as RemoteApps or users can access a complete Windows desktop where permitted.
A reliable Internet connection is recommended, as network latency and available bandwidth directly affect the remote session.
See Remote Sessions and Desktop for configuration and usage information.
WebDAV
Authorized users can access shared files remotely using WebDAV.
The WebDAV service is available at:

Access requires valid credentials and a WebDAV-compatible client.
